Daily Liquids

I have been working on increasing my liquid for a while now. While I was in school it was super easy to keep up with drinking water because I was dancing a million hours a day. But without the crazy workout schedule I had to create a plan to remember!  I follow the system of drinking 1/2 your body weight in oz daily! If you are exercising then this should be increased but that is the goal. Did you know that the human body is about 60% water. According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery: 31%. This means the body needs to be able to utilize clean water to keep the organs running! There are so many different types of water out in the world these days.. lets talk about the most common.. Spring/Glacier Water

  • Clean and free of toxins with minerals from spring

  • Typically bottles water

  • Brands: Evian and Arrowhead

Distilled Water

  • Reverse osmosis and distillation. The water is boiled, the steam is then collected and condensed back into a liquid

  • Can pull minerals out of your teeth and other organs

  • Brands: Nestle and SmartWater

pH/Alkaline Water

  • Typically has a higher pH level than normal tap water and contained alkaline minerals.

  • Neutralizes acid in the body (the body needs multiple acid levels to digest)

  • Brands: Essentia and BodyArmor

Tap Water

  • Piped water found in most places (Kitchen sink and public toilet)

  • Can have toxins in like aluminum, antibiotics, pesticideslouride, Flouride

  • Found: In your kitchen sink and a public toilet

Mineral Water

  • Pulled from a mineral spring

  • Usually has the minerals sulfur, magnesium and calcium

  • Brands: Perrier and San Pellegrino

Purified Water

  • Tap water that is treated to removed bacteria, fungi and parasites

  • This is what a filtration system creates when installed at home

  • Brands: LIFE WTR and CORE

Soda Water

  • Is artificially produced and containing additives such as table salt, sodium bicarbonate, mercury and potassium bicarbonate to add a slightly salty flavor

  • Brands: bubly and schweppes

Well Water

  • Untreated water straight from underground lakes

  • Found: In the ground

Tonic Water

  • Is artificially produced and containing additives such as quinine, citric acid and sweeteners

  • Brands: Fever Tree and Canada Dry

Now that we know that there are basically a million different types of water. We can move into how I flavor my water throughout the day so it doesn't feel so routine like! By the way I like Spring water and San Pelligrino mineral water. At home I have a water filter on my fridge. I alternate very randomly between all of these!  I like to use a LARGE glass mason jar with a stainless steel straw to consume my concoxion!!
